Adult Social Care – numbers, personal budgets and packages

1. How many adults in receipt of long-term social care, including those who received a personal budget under the Care Act 2014, had their care package reviewed in the each of the following financial years:

  3. c) 2020-21

Part ii:

Due to the way in which our information is recorded we have no automatic way of processing this request for all agreements.  Instead this would require a manual review of each circumstance taking approximately 5 minutes each.  On the basis that a reduced personal budget indicates the possibly of reduced hours then, from the above table, there are 204 instances to review in 2020/21 alone and a manual review of these would take 17 hours.  With the time already spent to retrieve the above data this would take our response over the 18 hours guidance without considering the additional two years requested.

Under the Freedom of Information and Data Protection (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulations 2004 public authorities are not obliged to comply with requests which exceed the cost limit of £450 (equating to 18 hours of time).  For this reason we believe that Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act applies (cost of compliance exceeds the appropriate limits).

3. How many social care services funded by the local authority do you operate?
