Social worker allocation

1) How many children (up to age of 18) have been allocated to a social worker for assessment, review, or any other intervention so far in 2021? 

7,224 children have been open to a social worker between 01/01/21 & 31/10/21. This figure includes children who were open at 01/01/21 and those who have been opened since 01/01/21.

2) How many adults (over 18) have been allocated to a social worker for assessment, review, or any other intervention so far in 2021? 

So far in 2021/22 (from 01.04.21 to 30.09.21) we have had 6,905 adults 18+ where there has been an intervention to a social worker.

3) How many children (up to age 18) were allocated to social workers in 2020? 

6,316 children were open to a social worker between 01/01/20 & 31/12/20. This figure includes children who were open at 01/01/20 and those who opened to a social worker between 01/01/20 & 31/12/20.

4) How many adults (over age 18) were allocated to social workers in 2020? 

In 2020/21 there were 9,339 adults 18+ where there was an intervention to a social worker.

7) How many social workers do you employ? 

The current number of social workers, excluding agency workers, is 423 (this value is only for SW jobs with social worker in the job title, so does not include Team Managers, Assistant Team Managers, Area Managers, Locality Directors, Occupational Therapists or AMHP’s).

8) What is your sickness rate for social workers at present?

Based on the same job criteria, the 12month sickness rate is 10.09 lost work days per FTE.
