Planning and Water

Please could I request the following freedom of Information request/EIR 2004 request.

1. Please can you confirm what your planning procedures are in regards to new builds and change of property. Eg where a large house is being knocked down and five others built on the site, in regards to consultation with the local water company, and the affects on the waste water infrastructure?

See below.

2. Do you consult on all new builds or changes to a site with the local water companies?

See below.

3. Please can you confirm if your planning form does mention waste sewage connection and if they have consulted with the water company on this?

See below.

4. Please can you confirm if you are aware of each village and the waste water infrastructure and the number of houses that the waste water infrastructure can cope with?

See below.

5. Please can you confirm if you do consult with the local water company for each planning application which may impact on the waste water infrastructure?

See below.

6. In regards to your housing plans and the governments figures expected to be built, do you consult with the water companies and take note of their concerns when looking at new sites which may be built upon.

These questions relate to housing developments which are the planning responsibility of the district councils rather than the County Council.

The County Council mostly deals with county matter planning applications relating to minerals and waste developments. We also deal with the council’s own developments such as for new schools. The planning application
form is now a standard from for all authorities and this contains questions about disposal of foul drainage. The local water companies are consulted on planning applications.
