How many schools Colleges and other learning institutions within Devon County Council have had to implement any restrictions as laid out in the Contingency Framework, over and above the general Enhanced Measures required for Devon. Please include data on which levels are being brought into use.
When the Enhanced Measures were announced for Devon, it was requested that masks be worn in corridors. It was also stated that further support would be supplied. What further support has been given to schools and other learning establishments within the Devon CC area and how many schools and other learning establishments within the Devon CC area have received this support.
In response to both of these questions, the number of schools and colleges who have implemented restrictions have varied so we do not hold this information.
The support to schools has remained in place through last year and in to this year with direct support to schools, firstly via development of the Risk Assessment 100 and other resources alongside this, and then ongoing when outbreaks occur in schools. Some support is led by DCC and some via UK Health Security Agency (formally Public Health England). The Enhanced Response Area did not change the support to schools. The enhanced response was provided across Devon and included additional communications and marketing including advertising and a surge rapid response team visit in Exeter and Devon which included work with local FE colleges and University to increase access to Covid 19 vaccinations
