Work from Home on a Permanent Basis

I am sending this request under the Freedom of Information Act.

1) a) Please state the current number of full-time staff who have adjustments in place allowing them to work from home on a permanent basis.

22 full time staff have their work location set as home based, however this does not include flexible arrangements that are agreed locally with individual managers.

b) Please state the current number of full-time staff who have adjustments in place requiring
attendance in person once a month or less.

Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 makes provision for public authorities to refuse requests for information where the cost of compliance would exceed the appropriate limit, which for local government is set at £450 or 18 hours of officer time.

A manual check of each case file would take at least 10 minutes, and as Devon County Council has over 5,400 employees locating and retrieving the requested information would take well in excess of 18 hours.

This response acts as a Refusal Notice for this part of your request.

c) Please provide a subset of the numbers in a and b, where these staff are based in your London offices.

Devon County Council does not hold this information as the Council does not have any London offices.

2) Please state the current total number of staff who have not attended the office for the following periods:

a) 6 months or more

b) 12 months or more

c) 24 months or more

b) 24/25

c) 25/26

We do not hold the answer to questions 3 and 4 in a single, central system. In order to locate and retrieve the information requested in questions 3 and 4 we would have to examine approximately 400 cases manually to see if there is any mention of these issues.

Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 makes provision for public authorities to refuse requests for information where the cost of compliance would exceed the appropriate limit, which for local government is set at £450 or 18 hours of officer time.

We estimate that it would take approximately 30 minutes to review each case, which would exceed the 18 hours appropriate limit.

Please limit your search for information to that which is centrally held and can be extracted from your recording systems.

If a question would require manual interrogation of individual files that would take the request as a whole over the cost limit, please disregard this question and provide a substantive response to the remainder of the request.
