Dryden Road Consultation Survey

1. Who (Name or Role) specifically made the decision to “Suspend” The much heralded Dryden Road Consultation Survey on Wednesday 4th March 2026.

This decision was made by the Director of Climate Change, Environment and Transport.

2. Did they have the authorisation prior to the “Pause” from The Chair of HATOC and the two Ward Cllrs Nash & Eade NOT were they aware it might be BUT did they take part in the final decision?

This was a dynamic decision which was necessary due to the concerns raised by the two local County Councillors and the Chair of Highways and Traffic Orders Committees (HATOC) in order to enable further discussions to review the options and make a decision on the future of the consultation. The local County Councillors and the Chair of HATOC were involved in the decision to recommence the consultation unchanged.

3. It the time of the ‘pause” in excess of 700 had already undertaken the survey. How many supported

Devon County Council can confirm that relevant information is held.  As this information is intended for future publication on our website and the consultation is still live, it is reasonable to withhold the information at this time. 

The Council has considered the public interest in releasing this information and recognises there is a public interest in openness and transparency. However, there is a stronger public interest in not prejudicing the outcome of the consultation.

 Therefore the balance of public interest weighs in favour of withholding this information from disclosure.
