Devon County Council acknowledges the April 2025 Supreme Court ruling clarifying the interpretation of “sex” under the Equality Act 2010. While we remain committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace for all employees, including those who are transitioning, we are currently awaiting updated and final guidance from the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) to be approved by Parliament that will inform any necessary revisions to this policy. In the meantime, we continue to uphold the principles of dignity, respect, and non-discrimination for all staff
