Funding for alcohol and substance misuse

Please provide the following information in relation to the financial year 2023/24.

1. How much money was spent from the drug and alcohol / substance misuse budget on the provision of support to the family members / carers of people who have a drug and/or alcohol issue?

Devon County Council (DCC) does not hold this information.

2. What percentage is this of the total drug and alcohol / substance misuse budget?

N/A.

3. How many Full Time Equivalent posts (funded from the drug/alcohol / substance misuse budget) are dedicated to the provision of support to family members / carers of people who have a drug and/or alcohol issue?

We do not have workers dedicated exclusively to the provision of support to family members / carers of people who have a drug and / or alcohol issue. We have integrated teams with staff able to meet the needs of a range of people with a drug and / or alcohol issue, including family members / carers.

4. How many family members / carers of people who have a drug and/or alcohol issue were supported by the provision of services funded from the drug and alcohol / substance misuse budget?

We do not hold this data separately for each of the drug and alcohol services commissioned or provided by Devon County Council. Our Y Project worked with (in 2023/24), 57 young people requiring support where their parents had substance misuse issues, and 43 young people who required support with their parents substance misuse and needed to access tier 3 support for their own use.
