Domestic Abuse Related Training

1) Between the dates of 1st April 2023 to the present day, how much money was spent on domestic abuse related training for council staff, if any?

Nothing was spent by the Children’s Social Care Academy or the Devon Safeguarding Children’s Partnership.

The Communities Team did commission some training during this period on the following topics:

Intersectionality & Cultural Competence

So called Honour Abuse Training

Anti-Racial Practice

No Recourse to Public Funds as a Weapon of Abuse Training

Using Pets as a form of Coercive Control

It would not be possible to quantify cost of this training as it was offered to professionals from both the voluntary sector and the statutory sector including Council staff and was offered as whole system training.

In 2021 Devon County Council commissioned North Devon Against Domestic Abuse (NDADA) to develop two eLearning packages on Domestic Abuse. These packages are available to all Council staff.
