Have any issues reported by residents been acted upon? If so please details these including the actions taken and any subsequent correspondence.

Concerns were previously raised regarding impacts of the trial scheme on taxi and private hire vehicle (PHV) operations, both with respect to drivers/business owners and passengers. Representations indicated that the scheme has made some taxi/PHV journeys longer, increasing costs to passengers, many of whom are reliant on taxis. In light of this feedback, the Experimental Traffic Regulation Orders for the scheme were modified to exempt taxis and PHVs from the bus gate restrictions.

Concerns raised regarding unauthorised vehicles passing through the bus gates and passing ‘No entry’ signage on Birchy Barton Hill have been passed onto Devon and Cornwall Police, in order that they can consider enforcement action. It is understood that the police attended the Whipton Lane bus gate on two dates in December and gave advice to road users.

Concerns raised regarding ambulances having to turn around at physical modal filters have been discussed with the South Western Ambulance Service, with plans of filter locations provided to enable their navigation systems to be updated.
A number of vandalism incidents have been raised by residents and actioned accordingly. The nature of the issues raised to date have been in relation to cut off/removed bollards, graffiti vandalism to sign faces and planters, and installation of unauthorised signing/notices on the planters.
