Section 20 Joint Assessment Statistics

In the last six years, how many 16 year old and 17 year old have been taken in to section 20 care through a joint assessment with local housing district Councils?

Compliance with this request would exceed the appropriate cost limit under Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 which is £450 or 18 hours of officer time. We do not hold a centralised record of these assessments, therefore a manual search of each case would be required to check if there is any mention of a joint assessment. We estimate this would take in excess of 780 hours, as to find and collate this information would take at least 15 minutes per case.

In the interests of providing advice and assistance, we are able to provide you with the following information; there were 312 16 and 17 year olds who have come into care under section 20 in the last six years.
