Please can you send me:

Please send me the full policy, but this should include details of the intended frequency of road safety inspections, how these inspections should be conducted and the maximum time between identification of a defect and repairs being carried out.

Please refer to our Highway Safety Policy which is available on the “Maintaining roads” page of our website.

2) A copy of the road repair history for that road over the past year. Again, please send me the full road repair history, but this should include:– dates of all safety inspections between 8 March and 10 May 2023

3) – details of how safety inspections were undertaken (walked or driven, speed of inspection vehicle, number of staff inspecting etc)
– details of all carriageway defects identified, with description, date and time

4) A list of all the reported potholes/road damage with details of location within a one-mile area of Sidbury, Road from Chineway Head to Cleaves Plantation between January and June 2023.

In response to questions 2-4:

Please refer to this combined Defect Report.

Please refer to this combined Enquiry Report.

Please note: the maximum radius of a report is 250m. We can run reports for whole roads, rather than the specific distance of one mile, these have been provided – this is further than the distance requested.

5) A detailed list of claims for pot-hole damage to vehicles in the East Devon area and the outcome of each claim

Please refer to this Claims information report.

Some information in our response has been redacted. This is because Devon County Council considers this information is exempt under Regulation 13(1) of the Environmental Information Regulations (Personal Data). Devon County Council are not obliged to provide information that is the personal information of another person if releasing it would contravene any of the provisions in the Data Protection Act 2018.  In this instance we believe that the release of this information would contravene the first data protection principle and therefore Regulation13(1) is applied.
