Bridges

I require a response to the following questions:

1) How many bridges on motorways or A-roads have sections which are in a “poor” or “very poor condition”?

Motorways and some A roads (Trunk Roads) are the responsibility of National Highways and not Devon County Council. Of those A roads that we are responsible for, there are three bridges classed as poor and no bridges classed as very poor.

2) How many pedestrian and highway bridges have reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete present within them and their fixtures?

None.

3) In the past three years, how much has been spent on repairing and upgrading bridge structures to remove reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete from them?

None.

4) In the past three years, how much has been spent on repairing and upgrading bridge structures?

In the last three years Devon County Council has spent £15,240,000 on repairs and upgrades on bridge structures. This excludes all other structures such as retaining walls, culverts, embankments and rock faces.
