With regards to Heavitree and Whipton Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN).
1. Are any traffic monitors are faulty?
2. If yes, how long have they not been working for?
3. When were works issued to repair them?
4. When will repairs be done?
All the fixed traffic counters in the Heavitree and Whipton areas are currently functioning normally.
Devon County Council have a counter which records traffic flows on Honiton Road, near its junction with Sidmouth Road (this area is sometimes referred to as The Gallows). This particular traffic counter, which is associated with the traffic signals at that junction, developed a fault and stopped recording westbound traffic on 30th January 2023. On 1st February 2023 the council passed the fault to our specialist contractor. After a number of site visits and attempts to replace some of the hardware on site over the following months, the source of the complex fault could not be resolved. However, on 6th October 2023, a solution was implemented and the counter is now recording traffic in both directions again.
