Heavitree and Whipton LTN Pollution Levels

Can I ask how pollution levels will be being monitored during the trial and how will air quality be measured to assess any changes?
Also there is a distinct lack of monitors along arterial roads, as an example none along Polsloe Road itself and only one between Mount Pleasant and Sainsbury’s. How will changes to pollution be monitored along the arterial roads if there are insufficient monitoring points?

As per Appendix A to Exeter City Council’s Air Quality Annual Status Report, the City Council intend to implement real-time air quality monitoring on the Heavitree (B3183) corridor. In addition, Devon County Council intend to install additional real-time air quality monitoring sensors on the boundary roads for the Heavitree and Whipton Active Streets trial scheme. These will supplement the City Council’s existing annual monitoring sites.

Further details will be provided at the 30th October 2023 Exeter Highways and Traffic Orders Committee meeting.
