Crisis Support Services

I am seeking information on the number of applications to your crisis support services for help with beds and bedding. These services could include a local welfare assistance scheme (‘LWA scheme’), the Household Support Fund, Covid grants, or any other type of crisis support.

LWA schemes are typically a named service to which members of the public can apply for crisis support (such as for furniture or help with bills) and provide direct grants (cash or in kind) to an individual or household.

For Household Support Fund (HSF) schemes we would not hold this level of detail. We hold data on the type and number of households helped , and the total funding amounts – broken down by energy, food, other essentials. This information is published for all Local Authorities via the Department for Work and Pensions  (DWP), and is held on the DWP website, at the close of the Household Support Fund Scheme (Nos 1 – 3). We are currently operating HSF No.4.

The District Councils may operate their own Local Welfare Assistance or crisis support schemes and may hold some data.  We therefore recommend that you contact the district councils for further information
