Can you please supply me with the Gross Cost of the Magdalen Road Project, including all relevant related matters;
i.e. in no particular order and not inclusive – as ALL costs need to be included but including;
– Consultation meetings, printing, communications, etc
– signage & administration to close the road
– alternative route planning and signage
– detailed design and approval costs
– All construction works, including, temporary traffic lights, signs and controls, excavations, block paving, new tarmac, kerb relocation, etc, etc.
– Cost of designing, purchasing and installing new street lighting for the road
– preparation, construction, planting and positioning of the plant holders installed down the road (including an estimate of annual running costs)
– expected warranty costs due to failures of water installations and building damage, etc
– design, manufacturing and installation of all permanent signage relating the project

- The ‘Temporary Scheme’ refers to the scheme introduced on Magdalen Road in June 2020, which temporarily widened the northern footway (using barriers), restricted vehicular traffic to one-way (westbound) and introduced a contra-flow (eastbound) cycle lane.
- The ‘Permanent Scheme’ refers to the scheme constructed between January and May 2023, which physically widened the northern footway, permanently restricted vehicular traffic to one-way (westbound) with a contra-flow (eastbound) cycle lane, and introduced public realm enhancements.
