I’m trying to find out if Devon County Council is responsible for the maintenance of the streets in Clovelly, or if the land is privately owned. I’m specifically referring to the narrow hill by the fountain/New Inn Hotel. If you could provide me with any information, it would be much appreciated. I had previously sent a request to Torridge Council who have referred me to you as the land falls within your remit.
Clovelly High Street (including outside the New Inn Hotel) is highway maintainable at public expense. Please see the attached extract from our records showing the extent of adopted highway coloured brown which will confirm for the exact location you require.
