Given the poor state of maintenance of the roads in North Devon, is the DCC proposing to inspect roads more frequently? The massive deterioration of the road system leading to an increase in potholes can only get worse given the rise of EVs, which are heavier.
DCC’s safety inspection routes and frequencies are designated in Section 7 of our Highway Safety Policy Highway Safety Policy vers 6.1 effective 1st January 2021 – Roads and transport (devon.gov.uk). We also investigate reports from the public, Councillors and other stakeholders, many of which result in further site visits and additional inspections in between the planned frequencies.
