Road Closure Permits TQ6 0QD

Please provide access to road closure permits. Specifically, a permit application from provider Gigaclear (often sub-contracted through Circet) on a closure request. The permit request would’ve been in or near the postcode TQ6 0QD and would’ve been submitted in the last 7 months. It was rejected on the 21st of February, 2023 and I’d like to understand why.

Additionally, if there is a publicly available database containing road closure permit applications, please confirm how to access this.

It has not been possible to locate a permit with an associated refusal of a road closure for Gigaclear at, or near, the location identified in the last 7 months with the limited information provided. The last permit refused in that locality was in June 2022 and did not involve a road closure.

Pre-planned granted street works permits and any granted Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TTRO’s) will appear online via one.network or on the County Council’s website: Live roadworks information – Roads and transport (devon.gov.uk)

  • Permit applications are made for street works purposes. These may, or may not, include applications for a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) to close a road to facilitate such works however, this is not always the case as other traffic management measures can be employed.
  • If a road closure is refused it may not have been raised and therefore any information about the reason for the refusal of the application may only be held by the applicant.
  • While not an exhaustive list, common reasons for refusing a road closure application can include a clash of works, an inappropriate proposed diversion route, a high volume of works in a single locality creating network disruption for the community.
