Head of Adult Commissioning and Public Health - Tim Golby
The award of inflationary uplift for financial year 2021/22 to the adult social care independent sector
The following decision was made;
• The independent sector for adult social care (as per box 1)
will receive an uplift rate of 1.72% for the financial year 21/22
• The personal care rate is capped to the banded fee rates
(applies to domiciliary care only)
• Direct payment inflation to be applied at review
Each year the Council considers if an inflationary award should be
applied to the services it purchases.
It was decided that 1.72% should be applied to recognise the
increase to Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the national minimum
wage.
The following options were considered:
1) No inflation to be applied
2) Differential inflation to market segments
3) Inflation to be applied for CPI only
4) 1.72% to be applied to all markets
