DLD Awareness Day 15 October 2021
Developing a shared understanding of DLD – free online information session – 18 Nov 3pm – 4pm
To coincide with DLD Awareness Day 15 October 2021, the Babcock LDP Communication and Interaction team are holding a free of charge information session designed to support SENDCOs in developing teachers’ awareness and understanding of Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).
Training objectives:
- understand the impact and prevalence of DLD
- know ‘red flags’ for DLD and how it might be misidentified as literacy difficulties or ‘behaviour’
- discover useful tools and resources for sharing key messages about DLD with colleagues
- understand how to support the use of identification tools by wider staff teams
- define universal strategies for supporting students with DLD
