NHS Agenda for Change (AfC) 2024/25 Pay Award

Agreement has been reached on AfC pay, a 5.5% pay increase across all bands effective from 1 April 2024, with back pay implemented in August. Details on NHS Employers website.

A recommendation to add an intermediate pay point at bands 8a-9, progressing after two years, awaits NHS Staff Council ratification.

NJC Pay 2024/25

Unison and Unite are balloting for industrial action, concluding mid-October 2024. The Trade Union side asked National Employers (NE) to renegotiate after public sector pay announcements by Chancellor Rachel Reeves. NE reaffirmed their final offer because the Chancellor’s announcements exclude local government.

Teachers Pay 2024

The Government accepted the School Teachers Review Body’s 5.5% pay increase recommendation for teachers, including allowances and the LGA is consulting with local authorities and school employers before responding to Government.
