Free school meals opt-out auto-award – information sessions

Devon County Council is working on a project to ensure all children entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) receive them, without families needing to apply. This also helps schools access more Pupil Premium funding. Once we’ve identified eligible pupils, we’ll let you know. We’re asking schools to contact families using a provided letter template that explains the process and includes an opt-out link. We’re asking schools to do this because you have trusted relationships, accurate contact details, and it’s the quickest way to reach families. We’re holding two online sessions for schools next week to learn more about the project and ask questions, so that you have the information and templates required to support the process.
