NJC and JNC Chief Officer pay update

The three NJC trade unions concluded their ballots and we shared outcomes of these in an earlier update. Unison and Unite have since announced that they will be balloting members for industrial action over NJC pay 2024/5.

• Unison’s ballot will run from 4 September 2024 to 16 October 2024
• Unite’s ballot will run from 27 August 2024 to 15 October 2024

The negotiation process is outside of the Council’s control and takes place at a national level between the National Employer and Trade Unions (Unison, Unite and GMB).

Chief Officer 2024/5 pay award agreed  

Agreement has been reached on the 2024 Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) pay award for Chief Officers. They will receive an increase of 2.5% to their basic salaries, backdated to the 1 April 2024. Refer to the iTrent pay awards page for details.

Eligible staff will receive these additional payments in their August pay.
