Changes to Music Education Grant funding for 2026-27
From 2026–27, the flat-rate £300 Music Education Grant (MEG) for schools in Devon and Torbay will be replaced by a targeted project-based funding model. This change will support clearer outcomes, stronger accountability and more effective use of limited resources.
Devon Music Education Hub will continue to provide its core offer, including subsidised digital resources, instrument and equipment loans, support from Local Music Development Leads, and instrumental and vocal tuition bursaries for disadvantaged secondary pupils.
Schools will also be able to apply for £500–£1,000 to support focused music projects throughout the year. Eligible projects may include Whole Class Ensemble Tuition, performances, ensemble development and targeted provision for pupils with additional needs.
