Increasing Ransomware Threat to the Education Sector

In response to the increase of cyber-attacks that are targeting schools and other education settings, the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has published an alert on ransomware attacks. Ransomware has the potential to result in the loss of IT services and data, and can cause significant disruption for extended periods of time.

All schools are advised to review the alert and work with their chosen IT provider to ensure that their setting has appropriate measures in place to mitigate against this cyber threat.
