AET Making Sense of Autism – Schools

Autism awareness in schools

Making Sense of Autism training provides educators and school staff with a deeper understanding of autism and its impact on pupils. This fosters a more inclusive and supportive learning environment.

It’s designed for all school personnel, including governors, leaders, teaching staff, ancillary staff, and transport staff. It focuses on four key areas of developmental differences experienced by autistic pupils, promoting positive relationships, recognising individual strengths, and supporting access to teaching and learning.

Training Objectives:

  • Understanding developmental differences in autistic pupils
  • Building and promoting positive relationships
  • Recognising the importance of understanding each pupil’s unique strengths
  • Supporting pupil access to teaching and learning

This training equips participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to make a significant positive impact on the lives of autistic pupils.
