Pay Award Updates – Teachers and Support Staff 

Pending the statutory waiting period, the STPCD is due to come into effect from 1 September 2025.  

The teachers pay award and implementation details are outlined below: 

  • 4% uplift to all pay points and allowances for teachers and leaders 
  • Increases will likely be implemented (pro-rata for part-time staff) in September 2025 salaries, backdated to 1 September 2025 

For maintained schools, the pay uplift is mandatory. For academy schools, it is not mandatory, subject to local academy agreement. If your academy uses HR ONE payroll and does not wish to apply the uplift, please notify the Academy Team Mailbox payrollacademyteam-mailbox@devon.gov.uk by 22 August 2025. Otherwise, the award will be applied in line with the final STPCD.

A Model Pay Policy is available in the HR ONE Policy Library (under pay and grading) for schools to consider adopting. At the date of this communication, the policy is being released in ‘draft’ version pending the STPCD becoming a legal document.
