EXPIRED New Neonatal Care Leave Policy
We are pleased to announce a new Neonatal Care Leave Policy for DCC employees in relation to the new Neonatal Care (Leave and Pay) Regulations.
With effect from 6 April 2025, parents and adopters will be entitled to additional leave if they care for a newborn baby who requires immediate medical care within the first 28 days after birth.
Key features:
- An entitlement to leave for a minimum of 1 week and up to 12 weeks
- The leave is in addition to other family leave, adoption, maternity, maternity and adoption support leave or shared parental leave.
- Employees with more than 26 weeks service are entitled to Statutory Neonatal Care Pay (SNCP) for up to 12 weeks.
- The DCC policy allows employees with over 1 year’s local government service will be able to take up to 12 weeks of neonatal care leave at full contractual pay.
