Pay negotiations update 2024/5

NJC (National Joint Council) Pay

Previously we advised that the Trade Union side were balloting their members over the NJC pay offer 2024/5, we can now confirm the results of those ballots.

• Unison’s ballot concluded on 29 June and its members voted to reject.
• GMB’s ballot concluded on 5 July and its members voted to accept.
• Unite’s ballot concluded on 10 July and its members voted to reject.

We understand that Unison and Unite are currently considering options and GMB’s acceptance doesn’t constitute a formal agreement. We anticipate a further update from the Trade Union side in due course and will provide any updates as we get them. As a reminder, these will be published on our Pay awards webpage.

JNC (Joint Negotiating Committee) Chief Officer Pay

GMB Chief Officer members have voted to accept the pay offer for 2024/5, however, we do not yet know the outcome of Unison’s ballot. As with NJC pay, we will provide any updates and share on our Pay awards webpage.
