FOOTPATH NO. 9, NEWTON ABBOT

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2021

NOTICE is hereby given that Devon County Council has made the above titled order.

The order came into force on Thursday, 1st April 2021 and would have expired on Friday, 1st October 2021.

By direction of the Secretary of State in exercise of his powers under Section 15(5) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the order shall continue in force until Friday, 1st April 2022 or until works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

No persons shall proceed on the affected path except for access to land or premises on or adjacent to that length of path.

Public rights of way affected:
FOOTPATH NO. 9, NEWTON ABBOT over its entire length (between Littlejoy Cottage and Ashburton Road).

There is no alternative route.

The closure is necessary to enable essential maintenance works to the Holbeam Dam reservoir, undertaken by The Environment Agency. These will include the construction of a new control building and improvements to the upstream culvert and screen.
