SETTLE: The Pickwell Foundation Welcome Hub
The Pickwell Foundation run a welcome hub named Settle at No. 1 Market Street, Barnstaple EX31 1BX.
Settle is a welcome hub for all the communities supported by the Pickwell Foundation.
A safe environment in which to provide casework and signposting support with families and individuals. Join them for regular workshops, information sharing events, ESOL classes, youth nights, opportunities to cook together, and so much more.
Their friendly and welcoming team (who all wear lanyards and Identity cards) will be on hand to help connect to local and national services that may be useful.
Settle also provides a space for the Pickwell Foundation to collaborate with partners and friends to offer many more activities, events and workshops. If you would like to collaborate, email us at: Communications@thepickwellfoundation.org.uk

Current classes at Settle, welcome hub:
Women’s ESOL
- Mondays (school term time only) 12:30-2pm
- Strictly women only
- Pre-entry to Entry 1 level
- Open class, no need to sign up
- You can bring your children (volunteers to support with childcare)
- Mixture of speaking, listening, reading and writing sessions
- 1:1 reading sessions with your child
- Bring your adult ESOL homework for volunteers to practice with you.
English for Everyday Life
- Tuesdays 1pm-14.30pm
- Weekly 30th September-21st October 2025
- Mixed level accessibility
- Open class, no need to sign up
English for Work, Employment, and Volunteering
- Tuesdays 15-18.45pm
- Weekly, September 17th – October 22nd 2025
