Waste and Recycling Advisors Contract
This new contract will provide support to Devon local authorities and Torbay Council to enhance their recycling rates and reduce residual waste to landfill providing a team of advisors and supporting expertise. Waste preventionadvice will also be given.
The opportunity has arisen following reallocation of funds from the former Devon AuthoritiesWaste Reduction and Recycling Committee budget.
The work will focus on those who struggle to recycle in their busy lives when they might not understand the instructions or have other priorities. The Waste and Recycling advisors will take time to explainthe systems enabling behavioural change amongst the targeted communities.
Householders who are poor at recycling will be advised how to recycle and reduce their waste. Assistance will be provided to understand the collection systems and requests for recycling bags and boxes will be followed up
as necessary.
