Haldon View (EX4 6HE) previously provided residential overnight and short stay accommodation for adults with learning disabilities with personal care needs. There are 6 bedrooms, all single occupancy. In the spring of 2014 Haldon View had a boiler inspection and upon investigation a full replacement of the boiler and heating system was considered necessary, and furthermore there was asbestos to manage throughout the building, this work was estimated at £90,000. The general maintenance backlog for the building was also significant at £234,000 so the total budget required to keep the service open was £323,000. Each Service User received a letter outlining the position and advising that the service would be suspended at Haldon View from September 2014 and offering support to find alternatives.
