Support you will receive from year 9 onwards

What to expect when in different year groups and the key milestones that will need to be planned for.

  • Year 9 to 10

    Usually ages 13 to 15 when young people will start working towards their GCSEs.

  • Year 11

    Usually ages 15 to 16 and the year young people take their GCSEs.

  • Year 12 to 13

    Usually ages 16 to 18 – this could be when young people work towards A levels, are completing a college course or start a supported internship or traineeship.

  • Post-18

    Usually after school or college – moving into employment, higher education or volunteering.
