Virtual School vision

A forward thinking, relational approach integrating care, education and health for our Devon children, as part of Inclusion and Learning and Children’s Social Care.

Priorities for CWSW

  • Raising the priority – every child should attend and thrive in school every day. Improve education presence and engagement, improve our EET data.
  • Ensure every child in care has opportunities to achieve and aspire to reflect our high aspirations for our children, in line, or better that national CiC.
  • Improve outcome data at end of each key stage: EYFS, Phonics, KS2, KS4, KS5.
  • Ensure we hear our children in their PEPs. Improve quality and effectiveness of PEPs.
  • Ensure children feel safer in school, and feel they ‘belong’ to their learning community.
  • Place based approach – three localities and one out of county locality.

Service delivery – a graduated response

  • Universal – schools will provide Ordinarily Available Inclusive Provision.
  • Targeted – reasonable adjustments, timetable changes, relational support plan.
  • Specialist – exceptional circumstances, breakdown situation in education.

Finance

  • Termly allocation of Pupil Premium Plus Grant and Personal Education Allowance.
  • Time bound interim support funding for interim education.
  • Disrupted education support fund.
