Ceremonies at Torridge Registration Office – statutory ceremonies at Caddsdown

When should we arrive?

You should arrive around 15 to 20 minutes before the ceremony. If you are arriving separately that is fine, just stagger your arrivals.

The registrars will need to speak to you privately to check the details to be entered in the register. You will also be asked to give your mother and father’s full name and occupation.

Where can guests park?

There is a free car park within the grounds. Disabled parking bays are at the far end of the building. The postcode for the car park is EX39 3BE, please note this is different to the one for the building.

Where are the toilets?

There are accessible toilets on the first floor – the lift can be used for access to this floor.

How many guests can we have?

The ceremony you have booked is a statutory ceremony. This is very simply the couple and two witnesses only, no one else will be allowed in the room and that includes children, babies or photographers. Witnesses must be over the age of 16. Please do not attend with extra guests.

Can we decorate the space?

As we do multiple ceremonies each day, we do not allow the decoration of the ceremony spaces.

Is there an aisle?

There is no aisle in the room.

Can we have music?

We do not offer personalisation with our statutory ceremonies.

Can we have confetti?

Confetti is only permitted outside and must be bio-degradable.

Can we have drone photography?

Drone photography is not permitted.

Can we write our own script?

All our registrars write their own ceremony scripts so they are all different and cannot be adapted.

How long do we have the space for?

Ceremonies take between 15 and 25 minutes.

Do we need an order of service?

No, there is no need for an order of service.
