New rules on COVID-19 testing for people travelling abroad

Posted on:

With the February half-term school holidays just around the corner and families potentially travelling abroad, it’s worth knowing that from today (Friday 11 February), you no longer need to take a COVID-19 test either before or after you arrive back in the UK, if you’re fully vaccinated.

If you’re not fully vaccinated, you’ll need to take a pre-departure test, and after you’ve arrived, take a PCR test on or before day two, and self-isolate if the result is positive.

Make sure you check the entry requirements of the country you are visiting as requirements for testing and vaccination can vary from country to country.
