As part of the overall NDLR project, the second of the ‘minor junctions’ has been completed at Buckleigh Junction on the A39. The upgrade has seen this priority junction remodelled into a signalised junction with new kerbing, signals, streetlighting and drainage. The works were completed in January 2022 by MacPlant Ltd.
The County Council also took the opportunity to resurface the 30-year-old carriageway between Heywood junction and Kenwith Viaduct, as part of a separate Highway Structural Maintenance scheme. These works were concluded in March 2022 by Milestone, the County Council’s Term Maintenance Contractor.
