SETTLE: The Pickwell Foundation Welcome Hub
The Pickwell Foundation run a welcome hub named Settle at Escape Down The Rabbit Hole, 1 Market Street, Barnstaple.
Settle is a welcome space for all people resettling in the Barnstaple area, where all can come together. The Pickwell Foundation uses Settle to connect, undertake case work with families and individuals, hold workshops, events, ESOL classes, youth nights, cooking sessions and so much more. It is an ever evolving, supportive and heart-warming space.
Settle also provides a space for the Pickwell Foundation to collaborate with partners and friends to offer many more activities, events and workshops. If you would like to collaborate, contact Karen, the hub coordinator: karen@thepickwellfoundation.org.uk

Women’s ESOL
- Mondays (school term time only) 12:30-2pm
- Pre-entry to Entry 1 level
- Open class, no need to sign up
- You can bring your children (volunteers to support with childcare)
- Mixture of speaking, listening, reading and writing sessions
Homework Club
- Wednesdays 4-7pm (drop in sessions, no need to stay the full time)
- Open to all, no need to sign up
- Volunteers to help with your children’s homework
- 1:1 reading sessions with your child
- Bring your adult ESOL homework for volunteers to practice with you.
