Impact Assessment on the recommendation to return to the Children’s Social Care Personal Budgets and Direct Payments Policy operating prior to COVID-19 from April 2021.
A direct payment is a type of personal budget that can be made available to families of disabled children and young people with SEND following an assessment from the Devon County Council, Disabled Children’s Service. A personal budget is made up of a series of resources which can be used to support a child or young person with their education, health and / or care needs as summarised in a child or young person’s care and support plan. Personal budgets (along with care and support plans) enable children, young people and their families to have greater choice and control over how their needs are met.
