If you are involved with a voluntary organisation that supports a historic designed landscape you can apply to The Gardens Trust for a community grant of up to £10,000.
The fund is for any activity that relates to a historic designed landscape, garden or park: these are landscapes or outdoor spaces of historical, cultural or artistic significance laid out with a conscious design for artistic, recreational, or functional purpose. This includes country estates, ornamental gardens, kitchen gardens, public parks and town squares, botanic gardens and institutional/industrial landscapes. Note that church grounds, community gardens and school gardens will not normally be considered.
The trust looks to fund something that will act as seed-funding/pump priming for a sustainable activity. This could be a restoration plan, a research project, or a volunteer training scheme.
Projects that reflect The Gardens Trust priorities of conservation, sharing knowledge, and encouraging inclusive participation and enjoyment of historic designed landscapes are particularly encouraged.
Volunteer organisations can apply for up to £10,000 – this is the total budget for the fund. The funding can be used for both revenue and capital costs.
