This funding opportunity is for projects to reduce the risk of surface-water flooding to schools. It is open to applications for grants towards both the design and construction of features installed in the school estate to reduce flooding.
The fund covers a wide range of interventions, for example:
- Small schemes that have minimal design/engineering eg. small, medium and large downpipe planters
- Medium schemes eg. medium sized planters, small rain gardens
- Large schemes that require significant design and engineering eg. swales, re-landscaping and medium to large rain gardens
Applications can be made by any state-funded school, voluntary-aided school, Lead Local Flood Authority (Devon County Council), water company or non-profit organisation.
The grant can only cover up to 50% of eligible costs and match funding is therefore required.
