The National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) has announced £150m of funding to support long-term projects to boost nature recovery and connect more people to designated protected landscapes in the UK. This strategic initiative is part of the NLHF’s Heritage 2033 strategy to address long-standing heritage issues at scale.
Grants of between £10,000 and £10 million will be awarded to around 20 long-term projects in National Parks and National Landscapes by 2033. The funding is for projects that improve access to inspiring natural landscapes, welcome people from all backgrounds, support nature recovery and help communities, landowners, organisations and those that manage the land to work together to create a lasting legacy.
Applications are open to not-for-profit organisations, and partnerships led by not-for-profit organisations. Protected Landscape management bodies must be a key partner within any application relating to the landscape where they operate and where the works will be taking place.
Focus of fund/fund aims:
Grants for long-term projects that bring about significant and enduring improvement in protected landscapes
Application deadline:
Applications for up to £250,000 may be submitted at any time and are made monthly. For grants over £250,000, decisions are made on a quarterly basis.
