Funding is available for UK organisations to build software that creates an interactive 3D map of a smart city, helping security professionals identify vulnerabilities and map connected infrastructure.
HMGCC Co-Creation is inviting innovators to develop a tool that lets security professionals quickly visualise a smart city in 3D — showing where nodes and sensors are located, how they connect, and where the vulnerabilities might be. This can be virtual reality, augmented reality or other innovative software solutions.
The call for proposals covers a range of technology themes: App development, business intelligence, communication systems, control software, cybersecurity, data science and engineering, digital services, digital twinning, geospatial science and technology, information technology, modelling and simulation, software development.
Grants up to £60,000 are available to cover time, materials, overheads and other indirect expenses of successful applicants. This challenge is open to sole innovators, industry, academic and research organisations of all types and sizes.

Application deadline:
Phase 1 Applications by 13 August 2026. Applicants who are successful at Phase 1 will be invited to submit a Phase 2 proposal by 10 September 2026.
