Visual arts organisations can apply for a grant to bring opportunities for ”making” into their work in art education. Learning through Making is a new fund supporting making through exploration of materials – testing, shaping and experimenting. The aim is to creatively engage audiences with the process of making, and working with materials in new ways.
Grants of up to £25,000 are available. The funding can be used for aspects of visual art education projects that might otherwise not be possible.
Visual arts organisations which are run with a charitable purpose and for public benefit can apply. This includes: registered charities; galleries, museums or organisations that are part of a local authority or charitable organisation; and – with some additional requirements – CICs and CBSs.
