Funding is available from the National Archives through a selection of different grants ranging from £500 through the community hub, which supports community engagement with heritage, to large consortium grants of £150,000 through the ‘Archives Revealed’ programme.
The current programmes are:
Records at Risk – grants of up to £5,000, to protect records of cultural and research value from premature destruction or prolonged neglect
Resilience – grants of up to £20,000, to empower the archives sector to find and develop sustainable solutions that help organisations to become more resilient.
Archives Revealed – dedicated to the cataloguing and unlocking of archival collections
Community Hub
- Seedcorn grants of between £500 and £5,000 to help with new ideas and approaches to community engagement with heritage
- Skills bursaries of up to £1,000 for individuals engaged in community heritage work, regardless of their career stage or background.
- Project grants of up to £30,000 for substantial, collaborative projects between at least one GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) or Heritage organisation and one community group
Skills bursaries – up to £1,000 for training and continuing professional development of archivists, conservators and other record keepers
Research and innovation grants – up to £10,000 for innovation in the archives sector, with a focus on addressing digital transformation, environmental sustainability and inclusive practice
