What sort of jobs can be advertised?
We recognise that it can be difficult to find the right level of skills, experience and qualification to fill a particular post; this is why we offer an advertising service for your early years and childcare job vacancies. As such, we only handle job vacancies which involve direct contact with children, and not the kinds of generic roles which might be easier to fill – that means we will handle your vacancy for a pre-school leader or playworker but not for a cleaner or cook. If you are not sure if your vacancy is suitable contact us for advice.
If you are a Torbay or Plymouth setting we will be unable to place your vacancies as these are separate local authorities and do not fall under the remit of Devon County Council’s support and funding arrangements. Please contact your local Family Information Service for information.
Please note this service is for private, voluntary and independent early years and childcare settings. This does not include schools (maintained, private or independent). Schools should contact the Devon Jobs Team for advice on advertising.

What should I include in the advert?
The vacancy form for providers will tell you what you need to include. We also encourage you to attach the relevant job descriptions and person specifications when you submit the vacancy form by email, as we can uploaded them to the childcare jobs website for jobseekers to get a more detailed understanding of what you are looking for. This can save you valuable time and energy in the long run, as it may improve the quality of applications for the role. For help with what to include in a job description and person specification, or more information on how to manage a safer recruitment process, read the Staffing Matters document.
Please remember, we are unable to advertise your position until we have received your £25 payment.
