Parents Childcare Survey 2023

The summer 2023 Parents Childcare Survey is drawing to a close. If you are a parent whose child is starting school in September, we particularly want to hear whether you can access the before and after school care that you need. Survey closes on 10 September 2023.


Government updates

Updates include: ‘Childcare and early years survey of parents: 2022’; ‘Early years inspection handbook’ and ‘frequently asked questions’.


Expansion of early years SENCO training

The DfE is expanding the fully-funded, accredited Level 3 Early Years SENCO training offer.


Early help request for support form

Just a reminder that if you need to request Early Help support or need to report a safeguarding concern please use the online request for support form.


For information / guidance: two Devon schools proposing to change age range

Landkey Community Primary Academy proposes to extend its age range from aged 4-11 to 2-11 years, starting in January 2024. It is proposed to lower the age range of Lady Seaward’s CE Primary School from 4 – 11 years to 2 – 11 years of age with effect from 1st January 2024.

Early Years Entitlement Funding – Monthly Payments from Spring 2024

With the introduction of the new entitlements from April 2024, more funding will be claimed each term and we are therefore planning to move to monthly payments from Spring Term 2024.


Parent and childcare provider ‘rights to request’

Did you know that since May 2016 childcare providers have had the Right to Request the use of school premises when they are not being used by the school? Parents also have a Right to Request that schools provide childcare.
